We were instructed by a firm of Architects whose premises had been damaged by a water main burst outside their offices. The water company were unable to turn off the supply for seven days which resulted in widespread damage to our client’s premises, in particular to the basement. Our clients were underinsured which necessitated claims being lodged against the water company as well as against the client’s own Buildings Insurers and Contents Insurers.
We considered every aspect of the claim including business interruption and presented claims to each of the three insurers involved. We were able to secure claims settlements from each of them with which the clients were delighted.
The Architects’ practice was able to continue functioning throughout and received as much as they could possibly receive from each of the parties.
